Gift Card Terms and Conditions

1) Definitions
– Gift Card: A prepaid purchase instrument with a specific dollar value issued by Drift Away Wellness Spa that can be used like cash toward Drift Away goods/services.​
– Buyer: The person who purchases the Gift Card.
– Recipient: The person named as recipient on the Gift Card.
– Account: A Drift Away Wellness Spa customer account used for bookings and redemptions.
– Soft-match: A reasonable name match allowing minor variations (initials, common nicknames, minor spelling differences).
– Hard-match: An exact name match (no variations) between photo ID name and credit cardholder name on file.

2) Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing, receiving, possessing, attempting to redeem, transferring, or redeeming a Gift Card, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

3) Use and Redemption
Gift Cards may be used toward any Drift Away Wellness Spa service available at the time of redemption, subject to availability and booking policies.

4) Recipient-Specific Use (Security)
Gift Cards are recipient-specific for security reasons.
– Only the named Recipient may redeem the Gift Card.
– Drift Away staff may require government-issued photo ID and may decline redemption if identity cannot be verified.

5) Redemption Requirements (Account, ID, Credit Card on File)
To redeem a Gift Card, the Recipient must:
1. Have (or create) a Drift Away Account.
2. Provide verified government photo ID that soft-matches the Recipient name.
3. Maintain a valid credit card on file in the Account (required).
4. Ensure the credit cardholder name on file hard-matches the Recipient’s photo ID name (exact).
If any requirement is not met, Drift Away may decline redemption until all requirements are satisfied.

6) Transfers (Allowed With Staff Approval)
Transfers are allowed only with staff approval and verification.
To transfer a Gift Card, the Buyer must:
– Provide photo ID for verification, and
– Have an account in good standing with a verified credit card on file, and
– Provide any additional information we reasonably request to confirm authority to transfer.
After transfer, the new Recipient must meet all requirements in Section 5 at redemption.

7) No Resale / No Cash Value
Gift Cards:
– Cannot be sold, resold, auctioned, or bartered.
– Are not redeemable for cash, except where required by law.
– Have no resale value.

8) Fraud, Disputes, Chargebacks, and Voids
If the payment used to purchase a Gift Card is disputed, charged back, reversed, voided (in whole or in part), or reasonably suspected to be unauthorized or fraudulent, Drift Away may, without notice:
– Place the Gift Card under review,
– Suspend redemption,
– Void the Gift Card, and/or
– Reduce the Gift Card balance by the disputed/voided amount (including partial disputes).
If a Gift Card is redeemed and the original purchase is later disputed/voided, you authorize Drift Away to recover outstanding amounts by charging the credit card on file in the Account used for redemption, to the extent permitted by law and applicable payment network/processor rules.

9) No Expiry (Alberta Purchases)
Gift Cards purchased in Alberta are not subject to expiry dates, and a Gift Card will not expire until the full value is used.​

10) No Fees That Reduce Value Over Time
Drift Away does not charge inactivity/maintenance fees that reduce gift card value over time for Gift Cards purchased in Alberta.​

11) Lost, Stolen, or Shared Gift Cards
Treat Gift Cards like cash. Drift Away is not responsible for Gift Cards that are lost, stolen, destroyed, or used without permission.
Share your Gift Card information only with your intended Recipient.

12) Records and Balance
Our records of Gift Card issuance, balance, and redemption are considered correct unless proven otherwise as required by law.

13) Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on our website. The version in effect at the time of redemption applies to that redemption, except where prohibited by law.
